I’ve told you how important my Instant Pot is to me. After having my Instant Pot for about a year. I’ve learned as it is with any tool, sometimes you need some accessories to go with it. So today, I’m giving you my list of 5 must-have accessories for your instant pot plus a FREE cutting file so you can cut your own adorable Instant Pot decal.
It’s hard to believe that I could love my Instant Pot anymore than I already do. These accessories make me love it even more!’

EXTRA SILICONE SEALING RINGS
The Instant Pot has very few downsides but I can identify one slight issue. The silicone ring that seals up the pot during cooking tends to pick up the scent of the food. I like to use my Instant Pot to cook rice pudding and the last thing I want is for that to taste like the chicken burrito bowl I made the night before.
There are various suggestions that steaming the silicone ring in the Instant Pot with vinegar and lemon rind will eliminate the odors. While that probably works fine, that’s just one more step I don’t need. I decided to go ahead and buy extra sealing rings. They come in different colors so you can have one for sweet and one for savory. These aren’t all that expensive, so that makes it well worth the price.
A TEMPERED GLASS DOME LID
Since the Instant Pot works well as a slow cooker, I decided it needed a slow cooker type lid that will allow me to see how something is cooking.
Did you know you can also make popcorn in the Instant Pot? The tempered glass dome lid is essential if you want to eliminate one more kitchen gadget and use your Instant Pot for making popcorn.
Amazon has some deals where you can purchase the dome lid and extra sealing rings together.

EXTRA STAINLESS STEEL POT
If you’re pressed for time, and I’m betting you are if you own the Instant Pot, then you’ll find this next accessory invaluable. Sometimes I come home from a busy day at work just to find that my Instant Pot liner is in the dishwasher–unwashed! An extra pot also comes in handy if you’re wanting to make dessert in the pot while you’re eating the main course. Believe me, you won’t be sorry that you purchased an extra steel pot.

Silicone Lid
Leftovers are always welcome in our house. This silicone lid works great for those times when I want to leave the leftover soup, chili, etc. in my Instant Pot liner, put it in the fridge and be able to come back the next night and re-heat the leftovers in the Instant Pot. This lid makes that possible. Sure, you could use aluminum foil or plastic wrap, but I like a good seal to prevent spills and to prevent my entire refrigerator from smelling like chili. If you feel the same way I do, then you’re going to want a silicone lid to seal up your instant pot.
STEAMER BASKET
The steamer basket is obviously great for holding vegetables while cooking. When I make a pot roast, I want some carrots and potatoes to go with it. I simply remove the roast and place the steamer basket with the potatoes and carrots directly into the remaining broth. When the veggies are finished cooking, all I have to do is grab the steamer basket by the handles (using hot pads or this handy tool) and pull it out. This eliminates the step of having to “fish” out the veggies with a slotted spoon.
The steamer basket also comes in handy for hard-boiled eggs. I can put a full dozen in the steamer basket and in 5 minutes I have perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs.
Here’s another handy use for the steamer basket. I am a HUGE fan of rotisserie chickens from Sam’s Club. I use that chicken in everything for several meals throughout the week. When I bring it home, I pick the bones clean, and then I put the “carcass” in the steamer basket along with water. In about an hour – start to finish- I have a nice supply of wonderful homemade chicken broth! The basket makes it easy to pull out the “chunks” while leaving the beautiful broth behind.
I think this one is the most important accessory you can purchase for your Instant Pot next to the extra sealing rings. You NEED a steamer basket to make your Instant Pot the most versatile kitchen appliance you own!
HERE’S AN INSTANT POT ACCESSORY THAT WON’T COST YOU A PENNY
Before you click to leave my site, remember that I hate to leave you empty handed! I created an Instant Pot accessory that won’t cost you a thing! As you know, I love to make cutting files. In fact, I have an Etsy shop that contains all of my cutting files that I sell. But…I also have a Resource Library where I offer an ever-growing selection of free cutting files and printables. It makes me happy to give away those resources so you can Craft Your Happy, too!
So with that in mind, I created this Made With Love In An Instant decal so you can “pretty up” your Instant Pot.
I’ll be the first to admit that my photography skills need some help. But in my defense, photographing an Instant Pot with its reflective properties isn’t easy!! I wanted to show you what my Instant Pot decal looks like on my very own Instant Pot.
I’d love for you to be able to make your own. You can do so by signing up for my Resource Library. This is where you’ll find the cutting file in there for free.
If you liked this post, would you consider re-pinning it to your Pinterest board to keep for later?
What will you do to Craft Your Happy, today?
